208 Wine Bar

Historic District North · tapas

A Bay Street wine bar named for its street number. The bar adds that 208 'symbolizes manifesting wealth and abundance' and then admits, 'It's also our address.' Wednesday nights are Bubbles & Blues with singer Laiken Love, and Tuesdays bring five dollar tapas toppers. Readers voted it best wine bar in Connect Savannah (2022) and in Savannah Magazine (2026).

A-J's Dockside Restaurant

Tybee Island · seafood

A-J's is on the Back River, the quiet side of the island away from the ocean. Visit Tybee describes sunset views over calm water and suggests sitting on the back dock 'to really get a glimpse into island life'. It is a dinner house, closed Tuesday and Wednesday by the hours the Main Street directory posts.

Barrelhouse South

City Market · mexican

A Congress Street live music bar. Visit Savannah says it books 'regional and touring bands every Tuesday through Saturday night', from blues and country to funk and jam bands, shows games on a 25 foot projection screen and serves Mexican food from Orale Tacos. Connect Savannah readers voted it best overall bar, best downtown bar and best bar for live music in 2022.

Congress Street Social Club

City Market · bar food

Social Club sums itself up as 'Good Vibes. Great Bites. Bourbon Wall Worth Climbing.' It has a large outdoor area with live music, a late-night grill and a dog friendly patio, and calls itself 'one of Savannah's preferred independent concert venues.' It posts some of the latest hours downtown, open until 3am six nights a week.

Congress Street Up

City Market

This is the bar inside the American Prohibition Museum, upstairs in City Market. By day, Savannah Magazine says, 'museum tours conclude in Congress Street Up'. At night it opens on its own and the museum page marks those hours 'Museum Not Accessible', so no museum ticket is involved. Visit Savannah describes 'an authentic 1920s speakeasy, complete with a tin punch ceiling, parquet floors, period music and dapperly dressed bartenders.' The museum belongs to Historic Tours of America, a national attractions company.

Savannah Smiles Dueling Piano Bar

City Market

A dueling piano bar that calls its nights 'a Rock-n-Roll party.' Two players take requests, joke with the room and keep the singalong going. The room holds nearly 500 people with seats for more than 250, nobody under 21 gets in, and Monday to Wednesday it is rented out for private events.

The Grove

City Market · southern

The Grove calls itself a 'sophisticated casual restaurant & rooftop bar' in City Market and a 'Savannah home away from home.' It serves Southern-leaning lunch and dinner, then stays open as a bar until 3am on Friday and Saturday.

The Rail Pub

City Market

The Rail Pub says its building 'has been everything from a watering hole for railroad laborers, to a boarding house and a brothel since its opening in 1890.' Karaoke runs, in the pub's words, 'every damn night @ 9pm.' Fridays are Free Fried Chicken Fridays with live music in the yard, and the website counts down the days to St. Patrick's Day. Happy hour lasts all day on Monday.

Wexford - Savannah's Irish Pub

City Market · irish, pub food

Wexford takes its name from County Wexford, because, the pub says, more than half of Georgia's Irish emigrants in the famine years of the mid-1800s came from that county. The interiors were imported from Ireland. Co-owner Jennifer Strickland took a 10-day eating tour of Ireland to shape the menu, then spent 18 months developing dishes with chefs Jason Cummings and Dustin Hambrick. The pub books live Irish music and a courtyard lineup of local players, and Savannah Magazine readers voted it best pub in 2026.
