An inn with a dining room and a separate tavern that keeps its own hours. The inn says the tavern opens daily at 4pm and closes by 11pm, with food during kitchen hours.
A Bay Street wine bar named for its street number. The bar adds that 208 'symbolizes manifesting wealth and abundance' and then admits, 'It's also our address.' Wednesday nights are Bubbles & Blues with singer Laiken Love, and Tuesdays bring five dollar tapas toppers. Readers voted it best wine bar in Connect Savannah (2022) and in Savannah Magazine (2026).
A-J's is on the Back River, the quiet side of the island away from the ocean. Visit Tybee describes sunset views over calm water and suggests sitting on the back dock 'to really get a glimpse into island life'. It is a dinner house, closed Tuesday and Wednesday by the hours the Main Street directory posts.
A side-street bar a block off Bay Street. Eat It and Like It (14 May 2024): 'This bar's claim to fame? Art. In the form of hundreds of renditions of Abraham Lincoln drawn (by locals and tourists alike) on cocktail napkins.' The same piece says it has seating inside and out and is dog-friendly.

Desposito's is the fish shack under the Thunderbolt bridge, serving since the 1960s. Connect Savannah traces it to a market run by the Walton family that Carlo Desposito bought in 1968 and put his name on; after he died in 1982, Walton Boone ran it with his son David for more than 30 years. Michelle Smith bought it in October 2020, rebuilt it over two years and reopened on August 28, 2023 with a riverside pavilion and room for about 130. The front bar is still lined with beer bottles found during the renovation. In December 2025 it closed after a staff walkout over unpaid wages, and parent company River Street Hospitality set a reopening for January 10, 2026 with new management and a menu it says goes back to fresh, local seafood.
Dub's styles itself 'a public house' and 'River Street's Premier Sports Pub', with burgers, sandwiches, wings and screens everywhere. It has a private banquet room with its own bar. It belongs to Live Oak Restaurant Group, which also runs Molly McGuire's on the islands.
Fannie's is the pink-roofed building across from the beach on the Strand, which Visit Tybee describes as three floors of oceanfront fun. You can sit inside, streetside or upstairs on the open-air deck, where there is live music on weekends. The site calls it 'a funky little restaurant across from the beach' and says its Sunday brunch and Bloody Marys return in the fall.
North Beach Bar and Grill sits between the Tybee lighthouse and the beach, and Visit Tybee describes it as mere feet from the sand, a place that welcomes sandy toes. The cooking is seafood with a Caribbean lean ... fish and chips, shrimp, tacos and fish bites ... and the site says it buys local, sustainable seafood. There is a full bar with craft beer, patio seating and live music.
An open-air Bavarian-style beer garden on the Riverwalk at Plant Riverside District, with bratwursts, pretzels, Oktoberfest music and locally brewed beer. Seating is first come, first served. It is a weekend room: closed Monday to Thursday.
The Crab Shack is the creekside seafood yard on Chimney Creek whose motto is 'Where the Elite Eat in Their Bare Feet'. The signature order is Captain Crab's Sampler Platter ... crab legs, Georgia shrimp, mussels, crawfish, corn, sausage and potatoes. The grounds hold a gator lagoon the site says has 78 baby alligators, an aviary of rescued and adopted birds, a game room and a gift shop. Boats can tie up, parking is free, and leashed pets are welcome outside. No reservations ... the site says just show up and grab a seat.
The Deck sits on the sand side of Butler Avenue with a back deck over the beach ... its own site calls it Tybee's only beachfront restaurant. The menu draws on Australian, coastal Mexican and Hawaiian cooking, with fish tacos, fried shrimp platters and seafood bowls. It is a sister room to The Collins Quarter, Ukiyo, Fitzroy and Fishbar in Savannah. A cat named Marley lives outside and the site introduces him to guests. No reservations.
Tubby's sits on River Drive in Thunderbolt, looking across at the Wilmington River where the shrimp boats dock. The kitchen is known for fried shrimp and fresh catch done grilled, fried, blackened, broiled or steamed. The week has a rhythm of its own: live music Thursday through Sunday, line dancing on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5, bingo on Wednesdays at 7. It belongs to Savannah's Live Oak Restaurant Group, which also runs Molly McGuire's on Wilmington Island.
