An inn with a dining room and a separate tavern that keeps its own hours. The inn says the tavern opens daily at 4pm and closes by 11pm, with food during kitchen hours.
A Bay Street wine bar named for its street number. The bar adds that 208 'symbolizes manifesting wealth and abundance' and then admits, 'It's also our address.' Wednesday nights are Bubbles & Blues with singer Laiken Love, and Tuesdays bring five dollar tapas toppers. Readers voted it best wine bar in Connect Savannah (2022) and in Savannah Magazine (2026).
A-J's is on the Back River, the quiet side of the island away from the ocean. Visit Tybee describes sunset views over calm water and suggests sitting on the back dock 'to really get a glimpse into island life'. It is a dinner house, closed Tuesday and Wednesday by the hours the Main Street directory posts.
A side-street bar a block off Bay Street. Eat It and Like It (14 May 2024): 'This bar's claim to fame? Art. In the form of hundreds of renditions of Abraham Lincoln drawn (by locals and tourists alike) on cocktail napkins.' The same piece says it has seating inside and out and is dog-friendly.

The address is a lane, not a street ... Broughton Lane runs behind the shops on West Broughton. The bar calls itself 'a classy 1870's hidden gem basement bar highlighting Savannah's deepest library collection of fine spirits and cocktails.' Visit Savannah says the cocktail menu is large enough to fill a newspaper. In Savannah Magazine (13 April 2026) bar manager Chris Schofield called it just a bar in a basement with good vibes and better cocktails.
A cocktail bar in a restored landmark on Bull Street. The bar says the building was 'erected in 1896' on the site of the Georgia Hussars' former armory. It is a Daniel Reed Hospitality room, the Savannah group behind Public Kitchen and Bar, and its line on itself is 'It's Not So Old Fashioned.'
The tiki bar inside the Sorry Charlie's Oyster Bar building on Ellis Square. Sorry Charlie's describes it as 'an immersive tropical oasis designed by true tiki aficionados.' It keeps the same hours as the oyster bar downstairs, 11am to midnight every day.
The rooftop bar at Thompson Savannah in Eastern Wharf. It calls itself 'Savannah's tallest rooftop bar, eye level with the ships and endless river views', with an east terrace and a west terrace. The kitchen sends out a Mediterranean menu with oven bread. Savannah Magazine readers gave it best nonalcoholic menu in 2026 and runner-up for both rooftop bar and signature cocktails.
A restaurant and cocktail bar in Habersham Village. The site quotes a description of the room as 'sleek and retro, with lots of pink and a bar that beckons diners in for a midday cocktail.' It runs Pizza Wednesdays and a steak night, and Savannah Magazine readers named it a runner-up for best nonalcoholic menu in 2026.
This is the bar inside the American Prohibition Museum, upstairs in City Market. By day, Savannah Magazine says, 'museum tours conclude in Congress Street Up'. At night it opens on its own and the museum page marks those hours 'Museum Not Accessible', so no museum ticket is involved. Visit Savannah describes 'an authentic 1920s speakeasy, complete with a tin punch ceiling, parquet floors, period music and dapperly dressed bartenders.' The museum belongs to Historic Tours of America, a national attractions company.
Garden Square opened in November 2025 behind 2400 Bull, reached through a courtyard off 40th Street. Savannah Magazine credits owners Jake Grier and David Winer and bar manager Natasha Conyers, and describes creative cocktails with vegetable-forward cooking. The room has hand-painted murals inside and a planted patio outside.
A brewpub that also distills. Hop Atomica says it makes its beer in-house from original recipes, 'from our dessert inspired fruited sours to the super dank Hazy IPAs', and distills small batch spirits on site. The 39th Street room is the Savannah home of a small group that now also pours in Statesboro, Richmond Hill and Louisville, Kentucky. Connect Savannah readers named it a finalist for best local spirits distillery in 2022.
A second room at the back of Mint to Be Mojito Bar and Bites. Connect Savannah covered the room when it opened as the Mint To Be Bubbly Bar: it is reached through 'a custom-made bookcase doorway', built by owner Alton Brecker, who opened the mojito bar with Mary Githens of Latin Chicks. Visit Savannah now lists the room as La Aparicion: 'by night, La Aparición transforms into something entirely moody and otherworldly'.
Lone Wolf describes itself as 'a neighborhood watering hole in Savannah, GA's Starland District.' It opens at 11 in the morning and pours until 1am, six days a week. Connect Savannah readers named it a finalist for best overall bar and best Starland District bar in 2022.
A dessert bar that pairs baking with bartending: cakes, chocolates, coffee drinks and cocktails late into the evening. Rebecca Radovich and Janine Finn opened it in 2007, and the bar says it has won a local best desserts award 16 years in a row. A second, smaller Lulu's is on Whitemarsh Island at 4700 US Hwy 80 E.
The street-level bar of The Municipal Grand hotel, with its own door on East Broughton. The hotel describes it as 'fine cocktails, vibrant seasonal plates and everyday classics, served morning, noon and late into the night.' Brunch runs all day from 8am to 3pm, happy hour is 3pm to 5pm daily and lasts until close on Mondays and Tuesdays. Savannah Magazine readers voted it best new bar in 2026.
Old Savannah Distillery opened its restaurant in April 2026, pairing a full-service Southern dining room with a tasting room for house-made flavored spirits. The menu is casual Lowcountry ... fried chicken, shrimp and grits, fried green tomatoes, ribeye. It is owned by Historic Tours of America, the company behind Old Town Trolley Tours.
The rooftop bar on top of the Perry Lane Hotel. The hotel describes it as a 'rooftop conservatory' pouring 'botanical cocktails and international street food' with 'sprawling views of Savannah's historic district and the sweeping skies.' Readers have voted it the city's best rooftop bar in both Connect Savannah (2022) and Savannah Magazine (2026).
The rooftop bar above River Street at what is now Hotel Orielle ... the hotel says it was 'formerly the Bohemian Hotel Savannah Riverfront.' Visit Savannah describes 'sweeping Savannah River views with creative cocktails, a firepit to gather around, and an open-air setting.' Savannah Magazine readers voted it best cocktails back in 2017.
A cocktail bar on Liberty Street that Visit Savannah describes as a 'retro-cool lounge' serving 'classic cocktails and sophisticated bites.' It takes reservations, sells its own merchandise and caters. Savannah Magazine readers voted it best signature cocktails in 2026, and Connect Savannah readers named it a finalist for best martini in 2022.
Sea Wolf sums itself up in three words on its site: oysters, dogs, fancy cocktails. The kitchen serves oysters, sausages and vegan food alongside house and classic cocktails, and it runs weekend brunch. The site says plainly that the bar has no telephone and takes no reservations. The same team runs the Cobra Room inside Lone Wolf Lounge in Savannah.
The Bootlegger is the bar inside the River Street Inn. Savannah Magazine (13 April 2026) says it has operated there since early 2024, in a building about 230 years old that the inn reports to be haunted. Its own site describes it as 'Hidden beneath Savannah's legendary River Street'. The magazine names Roosevelt's Smoked Old Fashioned as the house drink and notes a First Friday Roaring '20s night.
The Hot Eye is the lower-level bar of the Municipal Grand hotel, and it publishes a lane address rather than the hotel's street address. Savannah Magazine (13 April 2026) called it the newest of the city's underground lounges, with 'a sleek black bar and red walls', and quoted head bartender Alexis Cooper saying it is meant to be a place for Savannah, naming the SCAD community and people who work in the industry. It opens four nights a week only.
An upscale cocktail lounge downtown. Visit Savannah says it 'exudes glamour, sophistication and elegance' with 'opulent decor', pouring 'delicately curated cocktails' beside small bites. Connect Savannah readers voted it best upscale bar in 2022, ahead of Artillery and Alley Cat.
A bar inside the Perry Lane Hotel. Visit Savannah says it embraces 'a vibe of punk, glam, garage and rock-and-roll' with 'a rotating menu of experimental drinks'. Travel blogs describe an unmarked door, but neither the hotel nor Visit Savannah says so.
The rooftop bar on the Cotton Sail Hotel. It has two ways in: the hotel lobby at 126 W. Bay Street on the bluff, or an elevator from 125 W. River Street down on the cobblestones. The bar describes itself as 'a Savannah rooftop bar overlooking the Savannah River, with stunning views and breathtaking sunsets.' Seating is first come, first served with no reservations, except for buyouts of 50 or more.
Water Witch calls itself 'a tiki oasis in Savannah's Starland District' that 'serves up tiki cocktails with mariner myths and local lore of an ill-fated warship.' It is 21 and over.
